Family
Most days a mama of 3 kids and wife.
At 30 yrs old decided to not only go after my dreams but guide others to do the same in beauty + business.
Since the beginning collaboration has been key in growth. So the big question is how is collaboration an amazing way to not only build community but help businesses grow together. I have weaknesses in areas where I know I need help and so I ask for help. Asking for help comes in different forms and investment of time or money.
Being a part of the beauty industry has been about helping one another and the best part is community. I have been blessed to not only collaborate but ask other beauty professionals in the industry or even in my same area to collaborate together. A collaboration should be an equal exchange of giving and I always make sure that is inclusive of others. So what are some ways you can collaborate? Here are some ideas:
Giveaways: A fun way to share your community of customers between one another which I recommend if you can do it in your same city or county where you are located is great.
Live IG: I love video but something I have been doing is collaborating with other beauty industry business or educators to talk about a subject we both are passionate about.
Podcasts: Being a guest or hosting guests is a great way to share knowledge with your audience and give others space to share their knowledge.
Community events: Hosting events together can be a great way to showcase small businesses in your community and bring all your customers into one central spot to interact and get to know you.
There are so many other ways to work together in collaboration but most importantly others in your same industry are your community not your competition. Unity creates power. I live in an area where there are over 77 salons now with the shutdowns unfortunately there are less. Seeing stylists uniting together to open salons, rent spaces, and so many other collaborations has been great, but if we all came together as a collective to give in equal exchange to help one another I know we all would be so powerful.
There are so many other educators, salon owners and businesses in my same niche that have been so giving by offering paid classes to help me grow, and opportunities to assist inside of their classes. So grateful for them and really know that in order to grow it’s done in a team.
