Family
Most days a mama of 3 kids and wife.
At 30 yrs old decided to not only go after my dreams but guide others to do the same in beauty + business.
Alright, you are probably rolling your eyes or saying yeah that sounds nice but I have A-Z to do today. I know we all have things to do and being beauty business owners we are not only working in our business we need to work on it too. Here are 3 things that happen when you take a break.
First taking a break gives you a moment to see clearly. Sometimes the answer is right in front of us and feeling overwhelmed and frustrated keeps us from connecting to our higher best self. I take a break 2 days a week to disconnect from social media and my business to focus on myself and family. We can’t give from an empty cup so replenish your own cup before you help others.
Next, remember why. I didn’t become a business owner and educator to be the overworked, frustrated, self employed woman that has to work 16 hours a day to be “successful”. I did this for a greater reason! Keeping in touch with my Why, keeps me away from having to be on a non stop list of to do’s. I forget where I heard this but “we are not beings of doing” we all need rest to recharge. Being in the present and taking the time to enjoy the things and people I love allows me to come back happy and refreshed. It helps me see all the things I have to be grateful for.
Plan your break, write it down to make it happen. I have 3 kids, a husband, a chinchilla and so many others in my life. Lol having a planner where I have small actions and to do lists makes me feel productive and keeps me in line towards feeling empowered towards my goals. Planning my time for a break keeps me from feeling overwhelmed, and has been life changing. Having it on my planner I know that day is saved to be in the moment and everything else can take a break. Take time to renew and give time back for yourself.
The best ideas happen on my days off. I do weekly live videos, blog, and so many other things in my business. The best ideas happen on my walks, reading a book or just on my days where I am “off from work”. I wouldn’t have the ideas or things I have created without my days off. From working non-stop to my life now, I wish I would have known earlier that my business is not just doing and going non stop but taking the time to be in the moment to renew.
