Family
Most days a mama of 3 kids and wife.
At 30 yrs old decided to not only go after my dreams but guide others to do the same in beauty + business.
As business owners age or timing is a big subject of objection that we have heard time and time again. Its something that I personally struglle as a 30 year old cosmetology student when most were out of high school. Today an insight at an amazing story of resilience and following your passion at any age to start your business. This 2023 will be inviting other business owners showcasing diversity and lessons that we all can grow from because business is business and we all have more similarities than differences.
I met Jasmine soon to be 13 year old, 7th grade entrepreneur from the Bay Area, and owner of Doggy Dog Treats by Jazzy at my first pop up outdoor event. I had my mobile salon out at the event as a photo booth and my curiosity led me to meet and connect with jasmine.
When Jasmine was 9 years old, she asked her parents if she could start a dog treat business, and they challenged her to come up with a business plan and recipes. Jasmine took the challenge seriously and wrote her first business plan along with 3 recipes. Her moms were so impressed that when Jasmine turned 10, they helped her make her dreams come true with the start of Doggy Dog Treats by Jazzy!
Jasmine started her business because she loves dogs and wanted them to have healthy treats made with all natural, simple ingredients. That is why Jasmine’s mission is to give dogs yummy treats, that are human-grade, with no artificial flavors or preservatives. Her motto is- spreading love, one treat at a time.
Jasmine has been featured in The Ark Newspaper, and The Marin Independent Journal. She sells her treats on Etsy, outdoor markets, and is excited to announce that she will be expanding at the end of January! WOw.. This expansion will include a new website, as well as having 3 of her treats on shelves at all 4 locations of Woodlands Pet Food and Treats.
Jasmine hopes to inspire other young, Black girls who have dreams of owning their own business. That is why her favorite quote is, “All our dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them”- Walt Disney. You can connect with her in one of 3 ways below and please help me welcome jasmine to the beauty business and mind podcast.
