As a branding and marketing strategist for beauty industry service providers and hairstylist, I always recormment that my clients focus on building their google reviews. They are the first thing that show up when someone is searching your business or your business shows up on google map search results.

Google reviews have an impact on how your potential clients can perceive you business and trust at first glance. Now lets talk about 3 easy ways to get more google reviews.

Once you have set it up you can start getting the reviews but..

where do the reviews come from? Do you wait for your clients to love you so much they just do it themselves? I’m sure they love you but it doesn’t work that way. Hoping and waiting will leave your reviews on stagnant mode.

1. Give your clients the direct link to your profile and ask

Asking is how reviews get added on your business profile. Make it a part of your checkout process and bonus tip add to your guests notes a star for those that have done it so you don’t ask again once they leave you one.

Most are happy to do so and guide them to share their experience on there or what their favorite part about getting services done with you is. Most of the time they don’t leave reviews not because they don’t want to support you but rather they don’t know what to say in the review.

Developing a system can be simple. Add the link to your google business review page so that your client can click a button and go where they need to with ease. This will increase the likelyhood of the review being added.

So there is the review link on your google my business. Go to you business profile on google, click 3 dots next to your name … to pop open and it will look like the picture below. CLick share and now you can share that link or add it to your phone notes for future use.

2. Ask past clients that have left you reviews elsewhere to copy and paste to google reviews

You are being authentic here. They already left you a review elsewhere but now you want to grow your google reviews make it easy for them. Ask them to copy and paste it to google reviews. You can ask with a simple email or text messaging to your favorite clients and let them know you are wanting to grow your visibility on google. Provide the link to your google review page.

The simpler you make the process for your clients the more likely they will do it. Remember anyone who has had a real genuine experience with your business can leave a review. You can’t review your own business, or post content to manipulate ratings. Keep it professional and helpful if you decide to post content (that is for another blog post). Just remember to reduce the friction and keep it simple.

3. Respond to your reviews

This is my number one tip please respond to your reviews. Your clients did the work and it shows that you care by thanking them and guess who reads the reviews.

Your potential new clients that find you on search results. They get to see what you are like, tone of voice thru writting and a sneak peak of you as a human beyond the business owner. Remember to be truly you, you may want to sound professional but people want to connect with people.
